EIGHT KIDS! OI! Please do not tell me that she's still homeschooling them. This is where there's this horrible disconnect between not wanting her life in the slightest, but feeling completely inadequate.
Re Stephen McCauley. I have you to thank. You turned me on to him and I've been a devoted follower for years. Thanks, my dear. I'm praying this book is good, because I've been so disappointed with everything I've picked up lately. Either I'm getting cranky beyond belief (which is possible) or people are writing shit (which I think is also possible; both are possible).
Dr. Monkey - I like mine with home fries and catsup.
Claire - Oh yes, still home schooling them all! To keep them away from the influence of people like me and kirk. And, no, you shouldn't feel inadequate. You should feel happy that you don't feel a desperate need to WAY over compensate for the gaping hole your miserable childhood left in your heart.
Laurent - Ha! They say God moves in mysterious ways, but I say he hangs out in really weird places!
My sister reconnected with Jesus via internet, after her divorce, in the form of a North Carolina boy she'd never met. Moved with kids and trailer, married him rather than live in sin. Some 13+ years later, they're tied together by circumstance rather than straightout love, she homeschools and babysits, and contemplates her life.

Jesus, he's what's for dinner.

This is so funny. It reminds me of the Galloping Gourmet who 30 yrs ago found God in a closet of his hotel room in Ottawa.
