Hospital days

The Knuckle Head is out of intensive care, which is good and bad. Good that they don't think he needs to be there, bad because the standard hospital ward has a low nurse-to-patient ratio. He's feverish, which is worrisome, is unable to eat or drink, is on IV, is being dosed heavily with antibiotics, and is suffering a lot. If the fever fades, I think he'll improve significantly. I spend as much time with him as possible, tending to him, getting nurses. When he sleeps I try to find things in the bleak institutional world that are interesting to look at, and photograph them. It takes my mind off things.

Wonderful photos!
I love the second and third especially.

I'm just hoping he'll be doing better soon. It's got to be so hard to watch him like that, I'm sure.

Love the photo essay- it paints a very vivid picture.

Hope you are past this phase very soon. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So good to hear KH is out of IC - hopefully the fever will subside soon and the healing process continue quickly .

And hope you don't mind me saying but I find it so typical of the you I've come to know through the blog and e-mails to use your creativity to fill the time and ease some of the stress.

How are the Things doing?

Sending you all the most postive prayers and thoughts I can.

Will

A picture's worth a thousand words - and easier to say, too. Thanks for sharing with us. Hospitals make the days so very long.

Hope the Things are coping well during this- sorry to hear about the troublesome fever, but not all that uncommon, but enough to make you worry.

Still have you in my thoughts and am hoping for all the best.

Now get some sleep yourself- you'll be no good to anyone if you collapse..

I hope he gets rid of the fever soon.
Take care of yourself.
