And now for some comic relief!

I've been posting some SERIOUS stuff lately, so I thought I'd give us all a break and take you along with me on my day yesterday at a classic old American amusement park. It ain't pretty.

Damn illegal aliens taking jobs from Americans! Why don't they stay in Roswell like they're supposed to!

One of the rides. Don't ask me!

The old carousel.   Queen Elizabeth or a jester in drag?

                                                She moves and laughs maniacally.
The stuff of little children's nightmares.

I think I saw Elvis in line here.

Honey, I've told you a million times,
those cowboys will break your heart.

Oh My!  (Photoshopped for the boys on the blog.)

                          A cheap shot I know, but I never said I wasn't cheap.

And finally, we might be trash, but by God, we're patriotic trash!

I will have to keep my kids away from the maniacal mechanical lady next time we head over there. In fact, I'm not sure where she is in the park...and I'm glad. *shudder*

Glad you had fun!

I can't figure out which is scarier:
Big plastic cowboys, aliens bearing gifts, toothless animatronic ladies...

I'm going to say the fried oreos.

Sage - I didn't, but I hear they're actually kind of wonderful. A friend told me that the oreo just kind of melts.

Kathleen and Granny - Of course, I make fun, but it's a great old amusement park. It's been a big part of Pittsburgh's history.

Mr. Peenee - It may not be SF, but at least we do have electric weenies! Well, one anyway.

Susan - I know! Oddly enough, she's right next to kiddie land and the that cool old car ride next to kiddie land.

Jason - Yep. Those Oreos'll kill ya!

Yay! These are fun photos. One can't help but wonder who had all those particular Eureka moments: "I've got it! Frankenstein + Sausage=Big Fun! It'll be great"..

O.K. Elizabeth. You are busted. You have ben spending time with flicker and not on us dreary blog readers. You thought we wouldn't notice? You thought we would be satisfied with the same pictures from the old amusement park you went to for father's day or whenever you went? I was getting worried. I thought you were having an emergency or you were sick, or that your children were on summer vacation and you had to entertain them all day... but I see you have time for flicker. .... I am not jealous that I don't know how to download photos or anything. or that I don't really know how to deal with a digital camera, or that my life is boring and I depend on a little amusement from your blog. Nope.
So flicker is your favorite, right? admit it. No Don't.
By the way, what were you doing in any x-ray room? was it a mammogram or Your professor friend, or a reason that is serious enough to warrent the reckless abandonment of your faithful and loving readers? Pray tell,
and fess up
and .... I miss you.
What is going on with you and with your room-mates?
XXX OOO an abandonated reader

OMG! I remember going to one like this when I was a kid -- There was one on the Potomac that you had to take a ferry to get to...I think it was called Marshall Hall. Do you remember?
