Just an update and some craptastic crochet

Hello my dears! It's been a long and moderately miserable week since my eye work. But I went back to the doctor today and he said it's healing well - no scarring or infection. So now it's just a matter of waiting to see if heals all the way. I'm looking forward to getting my energy and writing mojo back. But until then, here for your amusement are some hideous crochet fashion don'ts. (For my flickr friends, these won't be on flickr because I've already passed my craptastic-crochet quota.)

"My Mommy had an affair with Big Bird."

Granny's didn't mean for you to wear those undies she crocheted for you OUTSIDE!

These gender-bending outfits will make the neighbors wonder just which way he swings!

You need to get well soon because I just found your blog and I am expecting great things out of it.

That's excellent news re your eye - I hope it continues to heal. Thank you for sharing that beautiful crochet with us. I am particularly tickled by the golfers in their manly mini tunics. You just don't see colours like that anymore and I wonder why!

Great news about the eye - lots of good thoughts and prayers going your way.

Damn if you gave my Mum that polyster yarn she could make you a disco vest - god knows she made me one, and I even wore it... once!

Love the crochet pictures and your comments are hysterical.
Thanks for giving me a laugh.

Oh great Monkey of many names, not much pressure there! I don't know about great things, but you'll certainly get a dose of me and my big mouth!

Mr. Twilight - I was hugely relieved. I know the docs always warn you of the chance of scarring, infection, blindness, bubonic plague, death, etc, as a matter of course, but given the way things have been going for us health-wise in this family, well... I was just really happy to have escaped all the possible awful fates!

Yes, it is strange that the knitted-but-manly mini tunic fell out of fashion! They're especially attractive, I think, with those polyester trousers. Or, if it were knitted to floor length (with bleeding fingers), if would be a lovely caftan!

Oh Willym, I would pay a great deal of money to see a picture of you in that crocheted disco vest! A great, great deal of money. And I promise I wouldn't show it to anyone... much.

retro goddess - Thanks! As you know from flickr, I live to find such things and make fun of them.

Dora - Oh honey, me too! And as for the laugh, me too!

sageweb - Yippee is just how I feel. And if I knew how to crochet I'd make a pair for you (she threatened).

Not sure you should be exposing your eyes to horrors like this when they are in such a tender state!
