The school district has agreed to pay the $52,000 tuition for our (autistic) daughter's placement in an appropriate private school!!!!! We got the letter today, out of nowhere; at our last conversation with them the head of special ed said "a private placement is not going to happen." HA HA HA

okay, I am absolutely stunned....but then again, yet another lawsuit on their hands making them look bad (which they are) probably shook them up a bit. Congrats. I'm thrilled for you, and for Charlotte.
Yay!!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so glad.

Dear Elizabeth,
I am so happy to hear this. I was going to call you to say "don't give up", and to send you all my love. I am so happy for Charlotte and for you and Kirk. What a huge relief. It takes so much energy to fight and so often I find that I do not fight when I should. Children force us to do things we wouldn't do for ourselves. You really won in many ways. Congratulations!
And so God shined his light .....
AMAZING. OMG, I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU ALL!
That is just wonderful. This is why we advocate for our kids -- the school district's first priority is the big picture, the needs of the many. Financially, it's best for the many ot keep that funding for other things. But you, your first priority is for that child, and that's where they lose --- their interest in the big picture will never equal your love and determination for your child. Persistence with that love will wear them down. Good for you, and good for your daughter. That's great.
