Surgery, again

April 1st. I had so hoped we could keep him safe and away from the knife. But the surgeon has convinced him/us that the knife is the only thing that can keep him safe. His blood is going to the wrong places, causing varices (badly swollen veins) which could burst and cause "a massive bleed." I'm devastated.

Dear one,
My heart and prayers are with you. We will try to do anything we can possibly do to help. Knuckle Head is strong and good. He will get through this. AND so will you.
BUT You need rest and care. You can ask for help in the doses that work for your family. It is a frightening prospect ahead, but he will be in very good hands and there are many who love you all and will want to give their love and support. Hugs and love to you dear, beautiful, lady, and to beloved KnuckleHead.

Oh Elizabeth, I am so sorry, I hate that you have to go through this. I hate that knucklehead has to go through it too. My thoughts are with you everyday. Please take care of yourself.

Knuckle head doesn’t work for me, so I’ll just call him Dr. K. I don’t light candles and I don’t pray. But I do know things. And no one is going to die here! It’s simple logistics: two doctors in an operating room are better than one. Let’s plan the post op party. I think red wine would be the appropriate sort…What say ye all?

Ah Chuck, anyone with his health problems who doesn't go to his doctors appointments and who doesn't report CHEST PAINS (oh, was I shouting again? Ooops) to ANYONE is, quite certainly, a knuckle head. But calling him Dr. K(nuckle head) is fine too.

Can we have the post op party at a spa, where people give me massages, facials, and red wine and where I don't have to lift a finger or clean up afterwards?
