You know it's bad when.....

Apparently, in addition to having high hemoglobin, my husband also has high levels of hematocrit. ( No, I have no idea what that is and have to go look it up on Wikipedia.) But I know it's not a good thing to have high levels of because the hemotologist gave my husband his pager number and said, "If you feel ANYTHING unusual - a cramp, pain, anything - page me immediately!" So now I'm officially freaked.

i'd stick him in the recliner and not let him move...the only words he'd hear from me would be 'sit..motherfucker..stay..'

Yikes...hang in there. And I'm with YD Granny and strapping him into the recliner!

We're thinking of you both.

Again, YDG nails it.

Yikes! This is sounding pretty terrible. I have been away from my usual blog browsing and now feel really negligent. The YDG solution sounds like a good one if the patient is uncooperative.

Take care of yourself as well. I'll be thinking about you.

More like trying to make the non-compliant patient realize the gravity of the situation to avoid further silly doctor avoiding types of behavior..

Dear Elizabeth,
I am so sorry things are this hard right now. Sometimes I just plain wish things were easier, even if all this awful stuff builds character, teaches us things and makes us better human beings. ( I'll pass, no thank you, not today, thank you)
I am taking you all with me on my errands and appointments where ever I go, sending you love and strength. ( Shall I read a People magazine for you at the dr.s office?)
Please take care of yourself. I love you.

High hematocrit values mean a high number of red blood cells, which makes his blood thicker.

It also means he's going to fail the drug tests at the Olympics.
