Rufus Wainwright - Gay Messiah

""He will soon be reborn
straight from 70's porn.....
Better pray for your sins
'cause the gay messiah's coming."

From his lips to God's ears! Happy Friday!

I love it, I tried to listen to it at work yesterday, and my work blocks out things that have gay in the title..funny. We sure can listen to Huckabee and his homophobic rants but not a song with the title gay. Anyways thanks for posting it. I have downloaded a few of his songs, but maybe I will buy his whole cd.

Sageweb: How crazy that makes me! It's fine to listen to hate speech, but not OK to hear anything containing the word gay..... Talk about your f---ed up "family values!" Anyway, enjoy the songs.

Boy: Yes. But he has two sisters - Martha Wainwright, his full sister, has an album out. And she is great. At the concert I saw, he was singing with his youngest (half) sister, Lucy Wainwright Roche. And she sang like an angel.

Carla: Yes, and better than that, I saw him sing it in the concert I went to. Mama mia! He was so hot he practically spontaneously combusted!

Actually Rufus has THREE sisters:

Martha, his full sister by Loudon & Kate McGarrigle, Lucy Roche, Suzzy Roche's daughter and Lexie, who has another mother whose name I can't remember. She's still in school I think.

I absolutely adore Martha, I want to be a cool rock chick like her when I grow up. ;) I saw Lucy perform with Rufus a few times too. She may need a little while to come into her own, she looked and sounded a bit nervous. But also a great voice. (Don't you hate talented families like that? I do!)

I know! How dare they all be lovely and talented!
Lucy was nervous when she performed for us as well, but in a charming way. And she handled us all well, like an extra large second grade class. I didn't know he has yet another sister. We can only wait to see what kind of wonderful she'll be, I guess.
